Classical Education: Skilled and Confident Learners
The Classical Educational model is the method we will use to nurture skilled and confident life-long learners as we encourage their natural curiosity and joy in learning.
• A Classical education begins with the end in mind; in other words, our goal is to train the student to understand not only how to complete a course, but how to learn. We want our children to be skilled learners who are able to approach any new subject, confident in his or her ability to learn.
• In a Classical education, subjects are not taught in isolation from one another, but in conversation with one another. This holistic approach helps the student to understand each area of study as it functions in the world; the information gained in one classroom does not exist within a vacuum, but is related to other subjects and stages of study.
• A Classical education emphasizes the liberal arts, integrating the study of languages, mathematics, humanities, science, logic and rhetoric. We want our students to be clear thinkers and persuasive communicators.
