The Oaks House System

The House System is a time-honored system dating back hundreds of years with the goal of building community on campus.

The House System at The Oaks is based on a historic European model and is used commonly in other Classical Christian schools. Families are placed into Houses upon enrollment at The Oaks, and the product is four smaller communities of multi-age and multi-stage relationships ranging from Kindergarten through our oldest students and faculty members.

Core goals of the House System are teamwork, leadership, and healthy competition. Each of the four houses is named after an attribute of God that extends to His people - Truth, Wisdom, Strength, and Fidelity.

Each summer, students are able to accumulate points for their House through the use of reading logs that they submit during the first week of school. Throughout the year, teachers and staff members may use House points to both incentivize and honor student growth in the areas of academics and community responsibility. Finally, students engage in friendly competitions through house games and spirit days. The House Cup winner is announced at the end of the year.
